From their [impossible to find] record "Clear Lake Audiotorium,"
this is De La Soul featuring a Tribe Called Quest doing a little number called "SH.fe.mC's."

According to wikipedia: "
Clear Lake Audiotorium was a six track promo EP by De La Soul given out to A-list DJ's in 1994..." Damn straight. I was either 13 or 14-years-old at that time, but I was one of the chosen 500 DJs that had one of these in his arsenal...
[thanks, DJ RAGS.]

Chris de Luca and his boy Phon.o have been whylin out for quite some time now, and I wanna give em some shine on the blog.
I met these guys out in Berlin a few summers ago and they showed me some good food, good tunes and a damn good time!
They are fluent with all diff styles of electronic music but I specifically remeber hearing Phon.o playing Timbaland instrumentals at like 130 & blending it with techno...so nasty.

Here's the first cut off of Black Sheep's 2007 album "8WM/NOVAKANE"...

Back in 1991 ,the legendary duo kicked-off their classic album
"A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" with a ridiculously over-the-top
violent track where Dres says something like
"yo, who the fuck used my toothbrush??? ",
before he guns down his entire family and then
tries to catch his schoolbus...The song ends when
Dres wakes up to reveal that the silly
version of Black Sheep you just heard was nothing
more than a bad dream he was having...

-yet, somehow, I didn't see this one coming.

So...I've been working on starting a label for a while and this is our first release. It's a compilation with tracks from 6 different artists that I've either known since way back or met along the way. The tracks cover a lot of different styles of electronic music with hip hop being a major influence to all of us as well. It's all instrumental (except zachary sings a bit on his tracks), and everyone will have more material coming out next year. Here is a freebie:

Adek is one of my favorite writers. I first saw his stuff around town in Tacoma & Seattle when I was just a young hustler. He was up a lot in the bay area when I was there and now I see his shit all over new york. His letters are really bubbly but still grimey as hell. I wanna get in touch w him & try to get him to design a 12" or something.

I did a remix a few weeks ago for these San Francisco guys Cubik and Origami. I tried a few different things with the track before Leo finally brought his MPC over to my studio and helped me knock it out. The original track is dope but it's a very different style than mine so I didn't really know what to do. I took a bunch of sounds I heard in the vocal tracks that sounded percussive and played them like drums underneath the beat. I recorded some vocoder stuff too but only a few pieces of that ended up on the track. I still have a lot of other remixes on the way so we'll see how I do with those (Machinedrum, MuxMool, Nosaj Thing...) I posted this remix on my myspace page but they have an MP3 of it up on the Cubik and Origami media page for free! so go and grab it right now!
